Wisconsin Apprentices Donate Time, Skills to Community Center

7/19/2012 -- Seven apprentices from Madison, Wis. spent their 40 hours of day school training at the Women’s Community Center in Wausau, Wisconsin recently. The Center is a two-story building of about 16,000 square feet. Apprentices installed about 8,000 square-feet of flooring during their week of class. Eight apprentices from Kaukauna, Wis. also spent their 40 hours of day school training at the Center a month later. The apprentices received training in floor prep, pattern carpet, vinyl plank, luxury tile, sheet vinyl, seam welding, and vinyl base. The training project/donation saved the Center about $24,000 in labor costs.
